Sushi Cookbook for Beginners
“I haven’t even gone too far into this book yet though I have picked up enough skills by reading a few pages. I purchased a sushi kit online and prepared my first sushi batch on the weekend which included salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, and zucchini, the family said that it was delish! Recommend using real sushi rice, not a replacement, comparing prices on seaweed sheets, and experimenting with a variety of dipping and dribbling sauces. My inexpensive kit did not contain a bamboo sheet for rolling, but have just ordered one, this will help the rice to be added to the exterior of the roll in addition to the interior, which is the simplest. I give the highest recommendation to newcomers.”

“This is an excellent starting point for newbies. The Sushi Cookbook for Beginners book discusses each kind of sushi and includes step-by-step directions for preparation. I wish there were more photographs, but this is still an excellent guide. It served as an excellent starting point for preparing sushi at home. I appreciated her advice. I’d estimate that there are nothing near 100 recipes.
Excellent beginner’s book. Awe-inspiring descriptions of the procedure. Excellent book for learning the fundamentals of sushi.”
— Wayne Nichols.
“Simply said, this Sushi Cookbook for Beginners is the ideal sushi cookbook for novices. Simple to follow, including all the recipes a novice is likely to require. The recipes are accompanied by a wealth of knowledge on sushi, how to serve and enjoy it, and the customs that surround it. If you want to learn how to create sushi or if you want to increase your sushi repertoire, this book will teach you how. It is my favourite of the various sushi cookbooks I possess.”
— Anita R.
“The largest variety in sushi is found in the Maki chapter, which includes a variety of interesting, inventive roll recipes in addition to the tried-and-true classics. Once you begin preparing them, it’s simple to come up with your own fillings. Generally, this works, but I once made sushi rolls using a hot dog in place of Spam in an effort to duplicate the Spam sushi that is so famous which is the recipe for which is included in this book, and although it looked fantastic, it was the one item that didn’t exactly come out as planned! In general, if you already know how to prepare sushi and are looking for some other recipes, this is a helpful book. However, the phrase “for beginners” is vastly exaggerated.”

Ther book has outstanding recipes for the delectable dressings which is a mainstay in many Japanese restaurants despite the fact that it is an unorthodox dish, as the author points out. The recipes are accompanied by a wealth of knowledge on sushi, how to serve and enjoy it, and the customs that surround it. If you want to learn how to create sushi or if you want to increase your sushi repertoire, this book will teach you how.
While it’s still great for novices, there is insight on how fairly expert sushi chefs pursue their trade. If it’s lacking anything, it can be particular knife skills or how to in detail pick the best slices of fish and meats to utilise in sushi or sashimi. We prepared some of our own in the past although we shy away eating anything raw or uncured but discovered that we had a lot to learn. All the essentials are there, with explanations on how and why things are seasoned or created the way they are. As a home cook we promise if you have any at least passible culinary abilities, you will be a cut above the traditional filling station sushi.
